Patrick Garner

An American painter, printmaker & photographer with a degree in drawing & painting, I have exhibited extensively. My work is in the collections of museums, universities & in private collections from Los Angles to NYC, in Lithuania & Greece, Atlanta, New Orleans & Boston.

I exhibited in Atlanta and in the southeast US in the 1970s and 80s. In the 1980s & for a decade later I focused on play-writing & theatre. I co-founded an off-Broadway company in Providence, RI; later I wrote several books that were published in both hardback and paperback in successive editions.

Yet my original compulsion to make visual art eventually subsumed all of these other interests. I began painting again; I revisited etching techniques, as etching was one of my early passions. My new work was shown at many places, you can see more on my website.

A suite of my etchings was featured in a 2009 edition of the Finnish arts magazine, BRIO CELL, LINGUA BLANCA, GLOSSOLALIA. Photographs have won awards in the 2012 Exotic Images Invitational. I have shown photographs by invitation in AwardTree, in Black & White Art Awards, 2012. I exhibited an etching in a 2013 Center for Contemporary Printmaking (CCP) juried show, Norwalk, CT.

In March 2014 one of my assemblages--a painting on paper--won 2nd place in a juried show at the Center for Contemporary Printmaking (CCP), Norwalk, CT.
