Asha Sudhaker Shenoy

I am a self-taught artist from Bangalore, India and I was interested in sketching from my childhood, learning to draw by observing the illustrations in the comics.

After retirement, I took to art again and to hone my skills joined the Short Term Course in Painting at Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath, Bangalore.

I have been painting ever since and I enjoy figurative and portraits more than any other form of painting. I love portraiture because of the challenges inherent in painting a person's likeness, personality and spirit. As an artist I try all mediums. I like to experiment and not stick to one style to be versatile. I believe in depicting life as I see and feel it and for me art is a lifelong passion.

I have participated in “Chitra Santhe”, an annual art show in Bangalore since 2008 and have held Group Shows at Galleries in Bangalore over the years and my paintings have been appreciated by all.
I was selected by the prestigious Karnataka Lalitkala Akademy for “Chitra Parise” in March 2013.

Four of my art shows held in 2013 -2014 at Bangalore and Kolkata were all a grand success. I was the featured artist in the February 2014 issue of India Talent Magazine and also the “Artist of the Month” in artsquare.in. I was also featured in Art Scene India, a blog on emerging Indian artists. My paintings are with art collectors in India, Ireland, Portugal, Singapore and USA.
