Alice White

Alice White is a figurative Oil Painter, and current Selected Artist at ZSL London Zoo. Her unique project, titled ‘A New Wave: Art and Conservation Science’ focuses on marine species, from living coral to giant squid, minute starfish to graceful sharks.

In addition to producing sketches, photographs and her signature oil paintings, Alice conducts ongoing research ‘behind the scenes’ at the zoo. This research takes the form of interviews, conducted with zoo keepers and conservation experts as they explore the complexities and explain the mysteries of their fascinating work.

Recent exhibitions include the Music Room in Mayfair, Kingly Court in Carnaby Street, and the Affordable Art Fair in New York and London.

Alice White is featured on BBC4’s arts documentary British Masters, with Dr James Fox (July 2011).

“If Santa squeezes one of Alice White’s awesome oil paintings into my stocking, I’d be a happy girl” Lauren Laverne, Grazia Magazine (Jan 2010).
